Greetings,
While many people tend to specialize in a particular technology it is in my nature to take a more comprehensive approach. I often wear many hats in integrations and migrations and operate across the IT landscape. I have worked in both systems and network engineering and have implemented security policy for PCI (Payment Card Industry), Sarbanes-Oxley, and HIPAA. As my roles usually have a broad scope I often work independently and in business areas such as process improvement, disaster recovery, and project management.
I like to think that I provide solutions. Simply put, the best solutions effectively and efficiently enable a business. My diverse background from small businesses to complex, distributed networks gives me a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of issues. Initiative and the soft skills I have developed in several industries allow me to overcome those issues. Knowing the culture and mission of an organization can be just as important as understanding a networking protocol in designing or troubleshooting. I have a solid ability to reconcile business needs and user behavior with technical requirements and constraints.
